A Tough LI College Market
There are 35 colleges and universities on Long Island. Molloy being one of them. What makes them different is they operate in the catholic tradition in an age where that might not be the positive it used to be. We had to craft a careful message about the college’s roots and how it currently functions whilst only touching upon the conservative backbone of the college. A new website was only part of the full on marketing approach employed by Molloy. We worked with a local PR firm plus the college’s internal communications team to craft all new materials to support the new image, new brand and new goals of the college (which all worked because the college was able to gain university status in 2022).
Total Brand Creation
This branding strategy started with Molloy’s USP. Molloy is well-known on Long Island for being a nursing college. But they are a full-blown college with 100s of degree program. We had to highlight the other degree programs since the nursing program was always at 100% enrollment.
Small But Growing College
Molloy was growing – and quickly. Molloy was once a small college with only 2 buildings. Over the last decade it built 3 more buildings and started buying up houses and vacant lots in the adjoining neighborhoods to accommodate and house its growing student and employment body. Molloy needed to stress the act that it was no longer a small school on Long Island – but now it was a major player.
Student services: Molloy needed to stress the fact that they were growing and they were adding new services and were just as equipped to handle and take care of its 4000 students as the larger colleges on Long Island. A massive campaign was launched to show the community just how many services were now available for future college students.
